WEATHER: Snowing on and off throughout the day. Probably S5 at times in the morning. Winds were picking up and blowing snow by 1pm. Not much blowing snow on the North side of Snoggrass but certainly blowing off Avery and the surrounding peeks.
Snowpack
SNOWPACK: At 3pm I measured 23cm of storm snow on the MF Crust. Shovel tilt and hand pit tests throughout the day would not produce a sheer on this interface. The MF Crust was below 0*C. Tsur and T20 were both hanging at 0*C. Four pits on the same slope at 10,300ft on NE aspect 30* slope all had CTN. This slope likely had ski tracks on it at some point in the winter. The MF Crust was supportable for skiing and skinning except for isolated areas in the Aspens and near trees where ski pin was near the ground. On Saturday we observed lots of wet point release avalanching up to D2 on S-E slopes around Gothic. We skied Zachary's, West aspect up to 11,300ft with a moist snowpack to the ground. We could stay on top of the MF Crust in open areas above 10,500ft. Below 10,500 it was trap door to the ground.
