Clear skies, intense sun and cool temperatures today. Near and above tree line temperatures remained cool for the day keeping surface snow dry.
Snowpack
South winds switched north yesterday afternoon. Moderate to strong winds built wind slabs 2 to 3 feet deep on near and above treeline lee slopes on west through north through south aspects. Scouring evident on ridge crests on exposed ridge lines. Drifted areas on ridge crests near treeline were 3 feet deep in localized areas. South aspects exposed to the sun started to melt surface layers mid day. Ambient air temperatures were cool enough to keep northerly facing terrain dry and winter-like.
