Snowpack

There was no wind today up high, even on the ridge at 12,500 from 10-12pm. Snow still frozen rock hard at valley floor at 9 a.m. Skied a warm East face at 10:45 and it was perfect corn - it didn't warm that quickly this a.m. and skinning up it felt like there had been a good freeze in this zone. First skin I needed ski crampons it was that firm. Even a second run at 11:30 had solid snow till about 11,500 and then the snow was soft and not that skiable.
