well defined SH layer 49 cm deep at PHQ. In Fish Creek canyon, easy to trigger soft slabs that deep on this layer. Found one rider triggered... see photos (sheltered north face BTL). soft snow above layer but harder snow below it. Photos of snow pit from flats just outside of PHQ, SH was still very much intact and layer is about 1 cm thick. HS 228. Above SH layer is 4F to F decomp and new snow (not wind affected).
