Should have been here yesterday or day before. Lots of traffic. Rapid rise in temperature and snow changed dry to heavy very quickly before noon time. Dug pit at 2273m. SE Aspect, HS 135cm. New snow temp @ -2C, temp near base near 0C - essentially already isothermal. Two CT with no result for 30cm recent storm snow on 20-MAR crust. Both CT failed on basal facet near base of snow pack on 1st & 2nd hits from shoulder height. Early Feb crust now hardly detectable on this SE aspect (facets).
