Quick report
Tukga Hut March 20-23 March 20: Size 2 cornice fall off the west ridge of point 3920. Unknown date of occurrence. March 21: Some size 1 storm slab avalanches triggered on ski cuts, one that stepped down ~30cm to old rain crust layer, in steep/confined terrain features and convex rolls below the hut, ~2750ft, N aspect. March 22: Strong southerly winds overnight at the hut redeposited snow to the northerly half. The big open bowl above the hut seemed to experience loading and cross loading from the changing wind directions over the past few days. We observed multiple size 1 natural avalanches all at a similar elevation band (~3400ft) but varying aspects (east and south facing slopes) around steep/rocky outcroppings that seemed to be running on the old/new interface. Cornice fall on a north facing slope at ~3600 also produced a size 1.
