More of the same in the Elk Valley

We spent the day North of Sparwood in the Brule Creek / Nordstrom area where we found variable conditions. On steep south-facing slopes, there is a hard crust that was mixed with sastrugi and grabby wind slab . We did find a few good turns on a true north-facing slope where there was no hard crust and the most recent snow was still soft. Today's temperatures were warm - 2.5 at 2200m but the moderate west winds made it feel a little cooler today.
