Mellow day around Big White. Due to conditions, we stayed on slopes around 15-20 degrees, kept in areas with many anchors, and reduced our load by spacing significantly. No signs of instability where we were riding but advise to stay away from any potential avalanche terrain until the new storm slab (43cm) stabilizes.
Snowpack
Saw a very resistant planar storm snow CTE 6. Another resistant planar break on depth hoar CTM 16 at 65cm. Follows the forecast of a depth hoar layer. There was a 4mm thick ice layer around 45cm below the surface but didn't slide in our tests.
