Weather

A very cold start -25 at the car at 9am. -14.0 at noon 2120m. Winds remained calm with no blowing snow observed.

Snowpack

See attached snow profile. Shooting cracks were observed approaching the trees skiers right of the fan. 10m on soft snow, isolated to BTL. Skinned the entirety of the couloir, boot-packing was not an option due to unsupportive snow. Observed some touchy soft slab while climbing into the fan. Couloir and fan skied very well, supportive powder.

Avalanche

A previous natural avalanche observed 48h+ sz.2 2200m elevation just below the choke. We triggered a small size 1 soft slab 10cm deep 5m across, ran 10m. Occurred during descent on previously noted isolated wind loading on small convex ridge feature. 2200m elevation N aspect.
