Broken skies in the AM, obscured in the PM with <1cm/hour of snowfall. Deep supportive trail breaking until 2000m where we were wallowing in facets. Where the snow was forming a very soft slab, we were able to break off the top 70cm of snow which sits over basal facets. We stuck to conservative terrain in treeline.
