Grizzly Plateau

Today we went to the Telkwa mountains outside of Houston. Wind slabs continue to build with moderate winds. These slabs sit on a mix of surface hoar or facets on shady aspects or melt freeze crusts on solar aspects. We saw two recent(24-48 hrs) wind slab avalanches up to size 1.5 on east aspects. There was excellent snow in sheltered areas but the riding everywhere was pretty good. We stayed away from wind loaded slopes and cornices.
