Quick report

Weather
sunny, warm
Riding Quality
good
Snow Conditions
windAffected, powder

Went for a short tour yesterday morning to see what the snow surface looked like before the storm today, and to get a look at how some of the steeper north facing terrain is filling in. Good powder remained below 2050m, variable with pockets of soft snow and large areas of wind effect above that. Travel above tree line sucked - many of the boulders are barely hidden by faceted snow that is just waiting to crumble and scrape up your skis! The lee side is OK in places, but we really need a few more storms before it will worth skiing in the alpine. The snow surface was starting to get moist in steep south facing openings (below 1800m) by 1300, but remained dry where shaded. No signs of new surface hoar growth. Wind above tree line was moderate out of the west. Also - found the buried early Nov SH layer up there last Friday (20th) down 55cm in openings below 1900m N->SE facing. On Friday it was giving us hard results in compression tests.
