Weather

Warm, sunny, and calm with moments of a light breeze lead to increasing cloud cover after noon.

Snowpack

On a Northeast slope, ATL, snowpack tests failed easily along the new/old snow interface. The layer of concern is a thin melt-freeze crust combined with near surface facets. Was unable to effect deeper layers during snowpack tests due to dense, 3-4 ft thick slab that rests over large depth hoar grains.

Avalanche

Many Loose Dry, Wind, and Persistent Slab, small to large avalanches on Easterly aspects near and above treeline.
