Over two days, light snowfall (2-3") followed by heavy winds and clear skies
Snowpack
on 30 degree slope at 11,500ft, wind protected in the trees, 36" depth with well consolidated layers, separated by 2" thick weak surface platelet layers at 8" and 11" depth from surface and then 8-10" of pure sugar (TG snow) next to the ground
Avalanche
sometime between 3:30pm on 13 January and 1:00pm on 14 January the major slide path facing due west along Express Creek (aka - Express #1) ran from top of the ridge on Ashcroft Mountain down to just below the Express Creek Road. There are still some deposition zones high in this basin that did not yet release with this incident.
