Avalanche
Spotted a fresh crown & large avalanche on the lower main face of S. Diamond Pk. 11,300, NE ARu R1D2 ran on old snow, 1 set of tracks entered at the top skier's right of the crown,, but couldn't see the toe for exit tracks. This avalanche had occurred during our skin up to an adjacent peak. We skied down and met the party (of 3) involved. All had descended safely. The snowboarder involved, triggered the slide after jumping the rollover. He explained the avalanche was slow moving and he was able to ride out. This avalanche was unusual for S. Diamond as most of the many i've seen there, break much higher on the slope.
