Snowpack

Wind loaded, leeward slope. January/Feb dry spell which promoted all of that near surface faceting was subsequently buried by the post-President's Day storm. Heavy loading, both from storm snow and wind transport has led to an increase in avalanche activity across the state on that new persistent weak layer of buried near surface facets.
