Sunny with little wind. Obvious signs of wind drifted snow in surrounding areas.

Snowpack

wind drifted snow over a hard crust

Avalanche

Skier in party triggered small avalanche descending slope near 30 degrees. The avalanche broke directly below the skier. The skier was the first to go down, the other skier was waiting above. Skier remained on crust left behind as avalanche fell below, and was able to back out safely. No one caught in it. Broke across the entire face, sliding for 10-15 feet before stopping.
