Spring squalls rolling in from the west.

N aspect, 11,800’. ~33 degree slope that steepened to over 35 further down intended line. Bottom 30” awesome big depth hoar, with some decaying wind crusts. Some depth hoar chains 20+ mm long. This was capped with a 3/4” ice crust. New snow varied 8-16” thick... topping the whole thing off. Tried to do 2 ECT tests. Could not isolate the column before failing near the ground. We could, by cheating on official protocols, get that 3/4” crust to fail. (Failed under the crust). South aspects had an awesome breakable crust.
