Weather
Beautiful spring day, clear skies and very light winds. Temperatures rose quickly through the morning and radiation was intense.
Snowpack
On southwest aspects above 12,000' recent snows were still cold, though they had settled out to about 2 inches of 4f rounds and DFs over a firm melt-freeze crust. There was a soft 1-inch thick wind crust at the surface in most places, but it didn't affect the skiing. Sunnier micro aspects had a melt-freeze crust instead. The surface was just getting soft at 11:30. At around 11,800', all of the recent snow had been cooked down into the older melt-freeze layer, and the surface was an inch or two of nice corn.
Avalanche
No new avalanche activity observed today. Some rollerballs from yesterday afternoon on NE-S-NW aspects, mostly above treeline.
