Rode first chute down from the cement mixer. Snow in the alpine was soft powder on old bed surface. Some recent natural wind slab avalanches observed above 1800m in eastern features Sz 1-1.5. Evidence of moderate and variable winds. See avalanche tab. Below 1800m surface conditions varied between stubborn 1F wind slab and 1cm freezing rain crust. The rain crust is very breakable and is very good skiing, it’s preventing wind transport and preserving the storm snow below. Triggered one sz 2 skier accidental. See incident tab.

See photo of drawn start zone. Skier accidental triggered from 5M above convexity, skiing across supported gully feature. Touchy 1F windslab propagating 150M across whole feature. Crown depth varied from 5-40cm. Triggered at deepest point. We called this a Sz 2 based on mass, could fully bury a skier. This ran on the 1cm freezing rain crust at 1500m elevation. Easterly cross loaded slope. No involvement
