Cloudy skies in the morning gave way to partly cloudy skies and rising temperatures by midday. Light winds with no snow transport.
Snowpack
The snow structure in Blue Point and the Brooklyns was similar. Height of snow averaged around 60-90 cm at Blue Point, 30-60cm in the Brooklyns. Both locations had a fully faceted snowpack, with 1-3mm 4F/F hard facets on top of either 5-10 cm of depth hoar, or the ground. There was a hint of a mid-pack slab composed of 4F hard faceting grains and not supportable to boots. Surface conditions varied from thin, soft sun crusts, to loose facets, to windboard. Mother Cline is holding anywhere from 5-20 cm of highly-faceted snow sitting on either ice, or smooth rock. Lots of anchors still showing, but overall a very weak foundation for future snows.
