Chilly and beautiful. Moderate to strong west and northwest wind.
Snowpack
Around 12 inches of snow fell in the Red Mountain Pass area in the past 24 hours. Westerly wind strong enough to drift snow especially at upper elevations was observed. The snowpack showed its fragile state in the form of cracking, collapsing, and natural avalanche activity. Northerly and east slopes that harbored early season snow most active.
Avalanche
Significant natural cycle in the past 24 hours. Steep, rocky, north and east slopes was were the activity was observed. Some avalanches appeared to run overnight while a few avalanches looked like they could have run this morning.
