Snowpack

80cm at pit site. Estimated based on experience to be 120-180cm deep in adjacent start zones. M/F Crust under some softer DF and RGwp grains. Crust about 5cm thick and deteriorating to facets. It's sitting over a pencil hard layer of wind pack with a very discreet facet layer beneath that. Beneath the narrow facets is another pencil hard layer that quickly degrades to the classic 4F facets near the ground. These basal facets are dry, sugary and "bouncy" at this elevation, about 2-3cm in size.
