Snowpack
On the east- and north-facing, near- and below- treeline aspects where I traveled, the snowpack consisted of yesterday's new snow over F-4F hard facets, with the occasional old windslab in the mid-pack. I experienced one small collapse, about 30' in diameter on a NE facing NTL slope, and shattered a small (D.5) storm slab on the same slope, but it did not avalanche, probably due to the moderate slope angle (~30 degrees). ECTX on basically the same slope, shovel went right through to the ground during taps.
