Sunny, 20 F. Windy above the treeline, with some gusts.

Snowpack

When hiking up eastward in the trees, snow had light loose layer on top. Could feel slab a few inches down by prodding with poles. On the southward descent: hard top crust, 1" sugary snow, another crusty layer, all loose sugary snow to the ground.

Didn't see any evidence of avalanches.
