Snowpack

Traveled from 8600 to 11500 ft on west through north-facing terrain. Solid freeze overnight with slippery conditions below treeline in the morning. The crust broke down in the early afternoon.---Near treeline shady slopes had soft slab that was non-reactive over a thin crust beneath the recent storm snow. In sheltered areas main concern was loose dry avalanches. these avalanche moved slow and were easy to avoid.---On the exit I noticed a few large loose wet avalanches on westerly BTL slopes that likely occurred during Fridays rain. Undisturbed slopes adjacent to these avalanches were supportable to skis with a 2 inch crust underneath a few inches of wet snow.
