Weather

Filtered sun through broken skies. Surprisingly calm and very comfortable day in the 10-mile range at 14k. Temps were cold in the am, but felt warmer when the sun poked out.

Snowpack

The snowpack locked back up under a good freeze last night. The new snow and wind-drifting was less than I expected in this area. New snow was generally 3-4" deep and right-side-up. Very little drifting had occurred on leeward slopes and the new snow was well bonded to the old, hard surface below.

Avalanche

Only a few small loose snow avalanches (sluffs) were observed on steep north facing slopes generating from rocky areas.
