Sunny with whispy clouds. Temps in mid to high 30s. West winds with gusts. Enough wind to transport snow. Heavy snow transport over ridges
Snowpack
By afternoon the sun was beginning to warm the surface and create a sun crust about 1/2 inches. Next slab was identified 2 inches below this and was about 2 inches thick. Another four inch slab was identified on a crust just below it. Digging deeper (between 1 to 2 feet) on an easy facing slope above treeline there is a presistant slab problem identified. Isolated a couples and found failure on isolation. In similar spots the block did not fail on isolation but could be pulled off failing on near surface facets. Block was a clean sudden planar.
Avalanche
Noticed a wind slab on an east facing slope above treeline. Avalanche appeared to be a wind slab R2D2 and was maybe a day or two old. In Caltopo photo the avalanche was just above the green line named Squaretop east slope. Avalanche appeared to be natural as no tracks were seen around it.
