Snowpack
We did not encounter snow depths deep enough to slide on until we climbed above 11,000 feet - even on due north aspects. Above that, snow cover is holding on remarkably well on northwest, north and northeast-facing slopes. Overall snow depths range from one to two feet. Sunny slopes are mostly cooked to the ground at all elevations. Where the snowpack is deep enough to be an avalanche concern in the future, it is mostly weak and cohesionless. The upper snowpack remains supportable on open slopes prone to drifting the higher you climb in elevation. However, weak grains linger below and this is a concerning setup as this stiff slab will likely support a bigger load before failing. Very little evidence of wind-drifting during the last storm. Surface snow was soft and not punchy up to around 12,000 feet.
