A warm day with moderate winds. Some snow transport at ridges.
Snowpack
Traveled around a large bowl at 12400ft from north-facing to southeast-facing. Along the way I probed to find out distribution of slab. True north slopes had 0cm of snow totally stripped of by the wind. Northeast-facing slopes had 60 to 80cm of weak cohesion less snow and no slab. East was 120 to 140cm of snow with two weak layers. One about 50-60cm down and then a basal weak layer the snow was firm between these layers. Southeast-facing slopes were fairly consistently firm for the whole 130cm depth. There is so much variability in snow distribution in the Front range at the moment dependent on where the wind has drifted snow. Treeline into below treeline the slab thins. In the trees it is mostly weak facets with a soft slab on top.
