Warm spring day. Winds were strong on ridge lines and exposed slopes.
Snowpack
Firm crust created by the recent melt-freeze cycle observed on most slopes in the AM. Winds kept the surface cold on exposed slopes. Corn-like skiing conditions on south facing slope on decent. Below treeline on protected slopes the snowpack was getting saturated around noon and my skis penetrated deep into the pack on previously unaffected slopes. Bare ground is starting to poke out on many slopes. On sunny slopes, under a firm 10 cm crust, wet snow was observed all the way to ground.
Avalanche
Previous Wet avalanche activity on steep, sunny, rocky slopes. Some slides are gouging and triggering isolated slabs.
