around 11,800 ft on NE Aspect winds: light gusting moderate, temps: around 25 F, sky cover: scattered

Snowpack

Skinning up through east facing trees below tree line the snow pack was mostly facets with light density new snow from 12/13 sitting on top. snow heights ranging from 30 - 100 cm. Nearing tree line on NE aspect, beginning around 11,600 ft we found very reactive wind slabs 2" to 6" thick sitting on top of wind crust. we experienced shooting cracks up to 20' long, hollow drum like snow, and were able to get very small test slopes to slide. height of snow ranged from bare ground to 130 cm in favored areas.
