Weather

There was a trace amount of new snow and clear skies with the nearest weather station (at the same elevation and 1.3 miles to the north) recording a daytime high of 29F and an overnight low of 13F. Winds registered light from the north at the same weather station, but felt calm in the field.

Avalanche

I went to the southern rim of McFarlane's Bowl to look at the natural avalanche from yesterday. I triggered the avalanche from approx. 20 feet away as I was taking a photo of yesterday's slide. The avalanche occured on the same slope that slide in late November, and then again on New Year's Day, except this time it propagted much wider and entrained a significantly larger amount of snow.
