Snowpack

Recent direct sun and warm temperatures weakened surface snow on steep east through south to west facing terrain producing small avalanches (L-N-R1-D1.5-I). Last weekends snow has settled, but remain up to 2 feet deep on sheltered lee slopes. Warm temperatures and direct sun has developed a 1 inch melt-freeze crust on slopes which face the sun. Due north aspects above treeline remained dry and cold by mid day.
