Snowpack

Freezing mist put thin ice crust on all aspects on Sunday 12/12. Pit dug on NW aspect at 9000' showed approximately 5.5 feet of snow depth. Thin ice crust approximately 10 inches down from snow surface yielded CT13 Q1 sheers. Slab above this crust not cohesive enough to propogate (yet!), but point releases beginning at this layer with turns in steeper terrain.. Bottom 4 feet of pack yielded no failures in tests. Basal facets minimal, small and cohesive at same pit location.=
