Spring like weather....cold, warm, sunny, cloudy, snowy, windy, sometimes calm....

Snowpack

Spent last 4 days guiding out of Friends Hut. Mid-week storm brought 4"-8" of new snow with consistent strong winds blowing seemingly from all directions over past 3 days. Triggered a small soft wind slab on ski cut off summit of Star Peak on 4/15. 8" deep, ran full length of South Face ~1,000', on hard icy melt-freeze crust bed surface. Wind affected snow on surface everywhere...up to Pencil Hard, above melt freeze crusts on all aspects.
