Snowpack

Snowpack: About 3-4” of new snow in the past 24 hours fell on meltfreeze crusts that formed Wednesday and Thursday on all slopes. Snow became moist in the afternoon with strong solar. East aspect above treeline was windloaded below the ridgeline, with isolated pillows up to 1 foot deep on crust. Ski cuts on these did not produce results, although the slabs were too stout for effective testing. Avalanches: Some roller-balling, otherwise, no signs of instability. A few very small wet loose sluffs on surrounding southerly alpine slopes; just the top 3” sluffing down to the crust.
