Weather

After a short heavy snow period Monday morning (5½" 0.34" water) it started to break up and the storm ended with 103½" in the 12 days. Reached 85" deep late morning yesterday, then dropped to 82" by sunset, 80" by sunrise today and 78" by noon. Clear sky lasted only a couple hours today before clouds returned, though thin, after a low of -11ºF. In the 12 main days of snow there was water equivalent of 7.97" (8.07" counting the light snow the 3 previous days). Average water for Feb. (the wettest snow month of the winter) was 4.45". Only the two largest slide paths on Snodgrass did not run (too bad as they cover a substantial distance of the slopes above the road) and pretty much all of Gothic ran. There were 2 size 4's and a number of size 3 slides. Around 23 slab releases off the 2 mountains. Is it summer yet?
