ENE aspect, slope angle of 33 degrees at/slightly above treeline. There was a 2cm sun crust but no signs of cracking or collapsing. Dug a pit at treeline, immediately noticed a faceted layer at 22cm. Performed a compression test and got a Q1 fracture at 15cm on C14, and then a Q1-2 on the noticeable faceted layer at 22cm on C25. 1F/P hardness for most of the snowpack, with the obvious exception of the facets at 22cm. Both skiers skied the slope without incident
