Warm and sunny with increasing clouds throughout midday.
Snowpack
E aspect NT, 11,800'. Top of Henrietta Path, adjacent to recent crown: HS 120, with 30cm newer snow atop 12/16-17 slab. Poor bonding at 12/21 interface, with easy hand shears. Top 30cm is F hardness and we did not observe any cracking in this layer. Of interest was obviously rounding basal facets. Under magnification, crystal size was 2.0mm but it was hard to find any remaining sharp edges. We could easily make snowballs with the snow in the basal facet layer. Curious to see if this is corroborated anywhere else in the zone with a deeper snowpack. No whumphing observed.
