We skinned up Singing Pass on Saturday Dec 2 (skis on the whole way, encountering several sections of very light snow coverage) to K&C hut. With over 30cm of fresh snow overnight, we noticed recent releases up to size 1.5 on south facing steeper aspects of Cowboy ridge near ridge. Those breaking trail also noticing shooting cracks. On Sunday we woke up to a mild storm, high winds, and low visibility and chose Singing Pass for our descent. Mellow slopes and some tight trees provided fresh lines while steeper slopes exhibited more shooting cracks, whumpfs, storms slabs and wind slabs present. Sastrugi on Cowboy ridge visible from the trail on our descent. Warming at lower elevations and several sections of bootpacking on the way down over thin coverage.
