Helen Shoulder/Lake Tour

Went up and around Helen Shoulder and out towards Helen Lake before exiting via Helen Creek. Surface snow skied well once warmed by the sun. The exit/creek feels more like late April than early March due to low snow depths. Saw plenty of signs of older avalanches in the area and got to watch a good sized one drop down Crowfoot Glacier.

Watched an avalanche come down over the lower part of Crowfoot Glacier, (the "skier's exit" route if skiing Crowfoot Glacier) and run down into the moraines around 10:30am. Saw the remains of a recent natural avalanche in the northern section of Crystal Ridge on an east aspect that had stepped down to rock.
