Weather
Six inches of new snow in the last 24hrs at both Loveland Pass highway study plots. Light and occasionally moderate blowing snow observed at ridge top. Broken skies most of the day with occasional snow flurries. Little new accumulation was observed.
Snowpack
Today's storm snow showed little indication of fresh slab formation, though on a steep and particularly wind affected roll I was able to push a little pocket slightly bigger than my ski length. The older snow consisted of various layers over facets, with propagating ECT results on both southeast and northeast aspects near treeline. See snowpit profiles for more detail. I triggered one fairly significant whumpf on a northeast aspect near treeline.
