We skied at and below treeline around the log cabin area, keeping it conservative, and avoided steep, open slopes where wind affected/slab was found at or near the surface. We saw some reactivity of the recent storm snow where we intentionally tested a small feature in well supported terrain. Results were predictable when a single skier ski cut a small convexity in an isolated, but open tree glade and we observed 30 cm of the recent storm snow break on a weak layer causing a small size 1 avalanche approximately 10 m wide by 10 m long. Overall, riding quality was good and mellow terrain choices meant for a fun, safe day out given the conditions. To our surprise, wind was nil during the day. Big, fluffy snow flakes fell lightly for most of the day, but picked up later in the afternoon as the next front was predicted to roll in.
