We hiked up from the Harvey pass parking area and wished we had skis just for the road. Leaving the road would have been sketchy but the ski out on it would have been fun. There was about 20-25 cm of low density snow on top of a hard rain crust that made up the bottom 5cm of the snowpack. The crust definitely made for a sporting hike in some spots. Good day for a walk and beacon practice. See what this layer does.
