Cool with snow showers- minimal accumulation through the day.

Snowpack

Classic early season San Juan snowpack with very weak basal structure. Rolling collapses and slope failures on north and east aspects near and below tl. Main concern continues to be the interface between the recent storm snow and the older faceted grains left from early season storms and subsequent dryness. The snowpack is touchy and slope angles and aspects need to be monitored carefully- avoiding steep north and easterly terrain is essential.

Avalanche

Many slides ran below tl this weekend, though were generally small and harmless (R1D1). A couple larger slides were seen near and above tl, focused on northeasterly terrain. Hard to tell details as most ran mid-storm and were blown back in...
