Super windy all day, but not overly cold

Dug a quick “pit” and noticed two distinct layers/slabs forming. The fresh snow is starting to bond, and is in a distinct crust below it. Probably 4” thick. There’s another layer on a crust below that making up the next 4-6”. We saw this on a SE facing aspect that was open but below treeline.
