Heros Knob Loop

Did the heros knob loop on Saturday. Lots of hoar frost in the valley bottom in the open areas. No hoar frosted observed once we began our ascent up the headwall. The ascent was a mix of hard wind slab and sun crust which made a few spots difficult to pass. We didn't bother to ski the main bowl as it looked rock hard and seriously wind affected. Went down the backside which was a mix of hard impenetrable wind slab near the top of the ridge to soft slab in the middle and week old avy debris at the bottom. The day was sunny and cool with the clouds and wind moving in during the afternoon.
