The front arrived near noon. Valley bottom was crust. Some sun crust from Monday near the top of the logging road. Good snow travel in open areas above. Hellish travel in dense small trees. The steep terrain between the logging road and the ledge leading to Wind Lake did not show any instability, which corresponded to a Moderate danger rating from avalanche.ca.
