Weather
Light inversion, chilly temps, but with high clouds from incoming southerly flow. Light orographic showers over West Elks and Elks.
Snowpack
The East River and Upper Gunnison Basins hold very thin snow coverage. Only the areas north and west of Crested Butte have enough snow for the current avalanche problems. Across the zone, most below treeline terrain has less than a foot or two of snow, with ground roughness visible. With the exception of West Elks and Ruby Range, the GUN zone has less snow than the neighboring SAW.
Avalanche
None observed.
